Summary:
a) Students will use Glogster to create a virtual poster (including pictures and labels) of the life cycle of the butterfly. b) Students will use Animoto to create a video with music about the stages of the life cycle of the butterfly or c) Students will create and publish a story using TICKATOC about the life cycle of a butterfly
Tasks:
1.Hook – KWL of butterfly, 2. Assign jobs to each group: 2. Students go off and research using the customized search engine given by teacher: 4 main stages of the life cycle and describe/show picture of each one. 3. Students will decide which media they will use: Glogster, Animoto, Tickatock. 4. Students present their final product.

Content Objective – Working in groups of 3-4, TLW investigate and record their understanding of the life cycle of the butterfly by using various technologies to demonstrate understanding of life cycles by creating a visual (poster, video or book)
Language Objective – 1 E –TLW internalize new basic and academic language by using and reusing it in meaningful ways in speaking (presenting their product, speaking to other peers while working in groups, asking for assistance) and writing (creating their finished product, takingnotes while researching) that build language attainment.

How will you assess the students learning? By a Content Rubric requiring students to state, describe and illustrate the 4 stages of the butterfly life cycle describe significant and tested science objectives relating to the life cycle of the butterfly Differentiation: Students will have the option to draw pictures, record their voices as they describe the stages.
Resources:
What resources will be needed? Technology of student choice available in classroom or available for checkout from the library, custom search created by teacher on google (see below)

or
